Northern Lights Marijuana Strain

Indica Strain Indica

THC: 16% - 21%

Few strains come with as much widespread renown as Northern Lights, inarguably one of the most popular strains of all time. An inbred descendant of original Afghani landrace strains, Northern Lights is a pure indica. THC levels can reach 16-21%, making this one of the most potent strains available on any market. A couple hits is all it takes for most patient's seeking this strain's powerful body effects, an upbeat mix of euphoria and physical relaxation. CBD levels are less clear, but they certainly aren't high enough to recommend this as a treatment for seizures or other conditions that respond to CBD. Even so, Northern Lights is a highly useful medical strain, effective at treating anxiety, pain, and insomnia, as well as lack of appetite. Cottonmouth is common, as are red eyes, while other negative effects are much more limited. This strain has a sweet, earthy flavor with hints of citrus. Northern Lights is most popular on the West Coast and in Colorado, but it's a favorite pretty much everywhere else marijuana can be found.

Northern Lights Is my favorite strain because it lifts depression Instantly but, only Piff Kings,(CT}, organic version Is effective! All other vendors versions I've tried simply got me high but weren't very helpful in any other way.

Got a quarter of shake and it is superb! The flavor is nice with notes of pine, is very smooth and is not overbearing with its high. The indica effects are instant with physical and mental relaxation and a euphoric state of mind. What more could you ask for?

Super easy smoking! Hits you fast and hard like a cast-iron skillet upside the head, but in the very best way possible! I haven't had this in like 25 years! The Cannabis gods have shined their love light on me again! To my extremely experienced tastebuds (my first toke was in 1976) this is earthy-peppery and slightly citrusy. The buds are medium-density "little Christmas trees", as the wife said immediately upon seeing them. Lots of lovely orange-ish red stigma with serious trichomes!! Now for the PSA: If you've never smoked weed before, DO NOT START HERE!! Some people think weed is innocuous. Some strains certainly are not!! This is IN-KNOCK-U-ASS-OUT WEED!! For everyone, regardless of their experience: THIS IS STRONG SHIT!! When using, please don't have anything really important to do. DO NOT OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY (YEP! ANY FORM OF AUTOMOBILE)!! In fact, don't operate ANY machinery at all. No can openers. No pocket knives. Nothing. Peace and Love everybody! Free your mind, and your ass will follow! :)

the classic returned. the best sleep/depression aid ever. finally i tasted Northern lights again and sweet jesus it continues to kick butts like no one. One of the best indicas ever, the flowers look so beautiful, smells so classic and so good. this piney earthy flower smells dank brother, so dank. it looks so dank too, This is for sure a classic flower, theres no need to describe more. One of my favourites.

Makes you relaxed love me some indicas and of course good eats no anxiety

Northern Lights is in my top 5 favorite indica strains. This is strain is usually easy to grow and produces nice yields. If you enjoy a nice relaxing strain or a indica lover Northern Lights is a excellent choice.

I lean into Sativa strains more but when I just want to grind to a halt, then slowly re-engage myself, I’ve grown to like Northern Lights. It’s not my go to, but it’s there when I need it.

If you call yourself a indica lover then you must have it in its purest form. If all cannabis was in the form of Northern Lights I would still die a happy man.

Favorite strain of all time. I miss it when this strain isn't available. While it wasn't the first chronic strain I tried, it WAS the first that made an everlasting impression on me. The high is very heavy, both head and body wise but also very clear headed. While weighed down you won't feel foggy. This strain always delivers on a GREAT stone.

Consistently gets me where I need to be. Heavy body high that's good for bed or just sinking into my beanbag. Of course heavy kush vibes.

A true natural wonder. Classic fluffy dark green buds with brownish-red hairs. Breaking it apart reveals subtle scents of wood, herb & earth. The smoke is smooth yet strong. A beautiful head high that settles in the eyes. A primative strain by today's standards, but nevertheless another legend in the game.

Northern Lights is the best strain I've ever smoked!! 🔥🔥🔥 If you like indica strains this is the God Father, relieves anxiety, stress, and leaves you a comfortable daze!!! Buy this strain everytime you see it, I bought 4 carts and only take a hit or two and I'm good!! Buy some now

One word. Relaxation. All time favorite for sure. Use it for Bipolar, pain, insomnia, lack of appetite .Hard to find so going to try it my first time grow.

Northern Lights will always be a classic fave for me! Even before dispensaries, this is a strain that always excited me if it came across my path 😂 I even got some in feco form once too which was FIRREEE!!! Whether you are seeking this for medicinal or rec use, it’s a strain that you can never go wrong with.

Northern woods is my favorite indica by far. It never lets me down. Helps with anxiety, insomnia and pain, which are my three problem's. I would highly recommend.

I've always loved Northern Lights. It has a smell to it that I've always been a fan of and love, and the taste is nice and fruity, with a sweet and earthy tone to it. It has a nice couch-lock effect, for me anyway, and helps me to unwind. Relaxing and will help me sleep comfortably every time I need it to. I recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, strong strain that will help with pain, and insomnia. A classic strain for a reason.

Ok it is landrace strains crossed and original, but it won't get you high if you're like me. It tastes good, but low thc and effects. I recently wasted 70 bucks on a quarter of it. In todays world this is ditch weed

Very mellow, long-lasting high. Soft & easy to crunchle up, burns pretty good, and not too harsh. Thumbs up for me!

This was the first "KGB" I tried back in early 90s. After smoking Mexican brown and lower quality green for about a year, a very good friend of a friend came down from Eureka in Humboldt Co., the year The Chronic and Cypress Hill dropped. After a few big hits from a pipe, I was in pure cerebral, euphoric heaven with a body high to match. I remember we jammed (I played bass) for hours, then ate, and just hung out, taking few more hits. For hours and hours into early morn. Today's NL (in a legal state) is good, but nowhere close to the old school Chronic. Humboldt grown...toking, reminiscing...still a favorite in all it's more modern forms. ✌🏻

I've tried many and this is one of the best! Totally helps with calming down, appetite, sleeping, constant thinking, pain and depression. I definitely would recommend

For me, this strain seems to be a creeper. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this, though, there’s no question as time shifts I’m becoming more and more drawn into a deeper sense of relaxation. I’m usually strictly a sativa guy, except for late at night, though today I’ve been highly stressed and wanted to give this a whirl. At first I didn’t notice much, after 15 minutes, I am now in a total state of happy relaxation. I’m not ready to take a nap quite yet, but all the shat that was bothering me 20 minutes ago is gone. Maybe I’ll hit the hammock and check out cloud formations. Yeah, that’s what I’m up for. 😎🌱💨

Reminds me of the 90's and I'm an og. This was where I started smoking kind bud after years of shwaggy commercial bud. First grow was nl5 and silver haze and they were fire. The nl5 bud structure is solid and covered with orange hairs. Very recognizable bud. Great high and one of my all time favs.

Very good, classic strain! The effects were happy, calm, relaxing, hungry and some euphoria.

This strain fills my mind with creative thoughts. It is best taken at night as it relaxes the body and you can ease into sleep a bit easier. I have insomnia so it has helped. Strong smell though.

In my top 10 favorite. If you have the chance to get some you definitely need to. It's a special one of a kind and a must have if you can find it.

I have epilepsy, seizures almost every week. Once I started smoking this strain -northern lights- I’ve only been having 1 a month at that. And I’ve actually been able to go to sleep instead of staying away for over 60 hours at a time.

This by far one of my favorite strains taste, smell, quality of the high have always treated me right

Easily in the Top 5 all-time best strain ever created, it's an absolute classic. Northern Lights is also my personal favorite, the taste is amazing and it also makes me feel nostalgic. It was probably the first "Kind Bud" I was able to consistently get back in the late 90's when I was in college.

Really good buzz one both in body and mind lol tastes super good in a joint and tastes really good in a bong this stuff here will put your lights out hands down lol if your look for so good slow me down stuff then look no feather

9 out of 10.BC Bud.Total body and a euphoric buzz.Arthritis gone and no pain.Leans more to cush with sativa haze.

Not an indica guy but it's decent old skool flavours similar to big bud decent just uploaded my pic only had 1 joint but I'm liking the flavour sweet earthy a little piney nice tho high is relaxing happy it hits after 2 or 3 hits.

I have always loved this strain. The plants produce well and it is very stony.

Favorite strain of all time, but its not a pure indica. Its about 70% indica hybrid, afghani and thai are the parents, northern lights #5 is a descendant of afghani landrace

Love it, took the stress and worrying right away....

I've used this for insomnia, and it's worked like a charm every time.

This strain is my favorite! number one in my book! It’s hard for me to describe how it makes me feel, It gets my mind off of my pain!

A very mellow strain .

The high is AMAZING! – It hits you like a train with the heavy anxiolytic/numbing body stone from head to toes. It exacerbates your senses as well - thanks to its mild psychedelics properties. I drank cold water and I felt it go down through my throat and chest like a cold waterfall. Same if you spill it on your skin, but instead it feels like an iceberg. I experienced some closed-eyes visuals but nothing that intense to talk about it any further. Heavy limbs and serious cotton mouth case are the main downsides. In small dosage though, the sativa trait of Thai uplifts you and get you focused. What's standout the most is the euphoria. Bursts of laughter/giggles for no reason during 45min+! Despite the sedative effect, it isn't debilitating at all and your mind is clear and not confuse. Don't over do it because as many other strains side effects, it is gonna skyrocket your anxiety/paranoia level at worse. Aromas from the jar - 4 weeks of curing- radiate a powerful sour citrusy skunk smell who fills my entire room within seconds as well as the classic spicy/earthy NL perfume; The taste are much better – sweet spicy/earthy smoke with undertones of pine and citrus upon the exhale; Acquired from Seshcanna

8.5 out of 10. Hadn't had it in 2 decades, didn't disappoint. Classic indica. Piney and dense. Superb for anxiety relief, neuropathic issues, inflammation, insomnia. Not sure on appetite or PTSD, etc. A staple. Only reason it didn't score in the 9s is because of the many supernatural strains that do. At t25 it was potent enough to ease into relief.

Got this beauty from Greenhouse Wellness in Ellicott City MD. It's amazing definitely 5/5 would recommend

The punch of THC this strain packs is not to be underestimated. It lives up to its legendary reputation almost too well. It's clear headed indica buzz is balanced by a very euphoric and carefree stone. This strain can definitely be very heavy if you're smoking well grown buds and cause couchlock as well. The dabs I've tried were a beautiful gold with an amber tinge, and had a mind blowing terpene profile. They smell slightly of pine and musk, with apple overtones. They tasted even better than they smelled with intense berry, spice, and fuel flavors and hints of citrus and skunky earth . Northern lights can be powerful medicine as well as a smoke for recreational users alike. It's a great smoke for people with insomnia and lack of appetite and delivers that classic cannabis stone you really love.

Best strain I've smoked since White Widow!!! Cures all that ails you!!! Was electrocuted in the Army in 1999 and have sciatic nerve/muscle damage and was bedridden on methadone for it....rubbish WEED RULES?!🙌😂

Classic strain. It was nugged up when I was on it in 01. Very potent then for a young at time smoker. A must try in any experience smoke age. Basic exotic smell & very piney taste.

Pretty good strain . If you have trouble sleeping, eating (due to loss of appetite) relaxing, winding down after a long day, anxiety, stress, and a mountain of other benefits then this is the right strain for you.The taste is a good earthy flavor. It also has hints of orange ,berry ,and vanilla. It gives me a taste of dark rich coffee after I exhale the thick rich smoke .That's my own opinion. I have spoke with other smokers that say they also get a dark tea or coffee taste upon exhale of smoke . The buds are tight hard nuggets and can be large. Its color is light, and dark green with a ton of bright orange hairs that pop on the resin rich buds . Some buds will demonstrate a purple hue when the flowering time is extended. The strain can be full of stems and sticks when not cultivated properly or harvested way to early . If you plan to grow it then your in for a treat from a growers aspect . Most are big and full of buds . There is not much to do as far as work when your growing this strain . Its probably one of the easiest to grow and its a great choice even for beginners. It can be grown indoors and outdoors with the same amount of ease . Flowering time is 8 weeks but its not unheard of for growers to let them go for 11 to 12 weeks . I would recommend it .

Amazing, just got this strain again, from a different grower. Still the same price point and still similar numbers. So I can't say one is different from an another grower here. But here in Maryland, as far as Indica this is the most favorite local strain! I keep buying it for insomnia!

This strain has so much to offer, and it really gets me better euphoria and relaxation that many much higher THC strains, so I am convinced of the needed variety. And the price point for medical for this strain is amazing. It is like it grows so large that they have too much. I have not had the negative effects thankfully with this one :)

Can buy this high THC strain in Maryland Medical Dispensaries. great price point for medical users especially if purchased in larger quantities. It does not prevent seizures, but it is quite helpful for Bipolar Disorder and PTSD!!! And my friends it gets you high!!!

One of my favorite it's been a year since I had it .....

Northern lights is like a big giant hug. When I was younger, this was the strain you heard about all the time. This classic bud is great for many reasons. The flavor is a very classic weed flavor. The dank citrus flavor will stay with you. It’s super easy to grow, and will be perfect grow for new growers. The effects are what we all expect when we think of getting stoned. Hungry sleepy and relaxed. It’s a classic that has survived the ages because it’s a great strain. I’d never pass it up🤪

The following is transcribed from notes made after 3+ months use of this strain. Breeder - Sensi seeds. Linage - Afgani & Thai. (Indica dom 90/10). Strength - Strong variety approx 20 %. Medical/physical benefits - Excellent for IBS or upset stomach, gradual onset, no racy heart. Becomes increasingly strong for 30-40 minutes. Good physical relaxation, narcotic effect. Cerebral effects - Has a distinct psychedelic component (probably from the small percentage of Thai linage) that does not always compliment its physically relaxing traits. Can be a bit overwhelming initially and is not always conducive to immediate relaxation. Sleep - Very good aid to sleep once initial effects have settled down. Appetite - Increase in appetite can be severe and almost uncontrollable. Ideal for patients who need to stimulate appetite. Clarity - Can be fuzzy in a way that is similar to alcohol. Functionality - Very high ceiling but larger doses can cause mild confusion, forgetfulness and clumsiness. Difficult to concentrate on physical tasks, definitely best after a meal rather than when trying to prepare it! Overall - Classic benchmark strain that is a good 'all rounder' but there can be an interference to relaxation from the psychedelic component. Best suited to late evening use when there is nothing demanding to do.

Trying out some Northern Lights for the first time. Smoked a small nug in my glass bubbler and found that it tasted kind of spicey. Left my throat burning slightly in a black pepper sort of way. I can't say I'm hating the effect this strain is having on my throat, but it's sure different. Can't wait to make some canna oil with it because of the flavour. At about ten minutes in I'm feeling pretty mellow but my mind is still a bit foggy; yay Fibro! The cannabis has definitely eased my anxiety and relieved all tension in my body. I'm appreciating the relief from today's wide spread muscle tension pain. It's not a strain that I'd use recreationally but I'm adding Northern Lights to my must have medicinal cannabis strain list. Seems like a good strain for beginners to try.

Smoked this back in my college days. Great high then & only in nug form did the buds appear. Lovely flower on all levels..

By far my favorite Indica strain coming just ahead of Purple Kush. Great for pain and anxiety or just relaxing and remembering good times back in the 90's when I first tried this strain.

Fantastic smoke. Super relaxing couch-lock...cushions felt like rainbow fog. Slight psychedelic effects. Great evening time strain for enjoying slow music and nature sound.

Decent middle of the road weed. This is not purple, blue or high cbd. The taste is kushy and silver. I didn’t find it to be sleepy like everyone has suggested. This is good newbie weed. This strain is one of the most common so people go on and on about it, and thus it is at least a little overrated.

The bud is phenomenal and gives a special kind of high.

One of my favorites to vape at night. A top choice Indica for me. I suffer from anxiety, depression and PTSD, works amazing for all:)

I absolutely love this strain it's literally the strain I smoked in highschool 20 years ago when we could actually find something other than crap schwag with more seeds than weeds.

Invented in the northern adirondacks by one of three renowned grows. Amazing history behind this one. But little is known about it due to the marijuana laws in the area. Sadly the creater of this strain was killed in an accident but his legacy lives on.

Hey just met northern lights I usually enjoy hybrids however for bed time it certainly puts me in lights out enjoy your review

The best NL I have ever had was from Sparr, Mi!

One of my favorites!! Like stated in the review below me, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE for this classic jewel of a strain. Since recreational Cannibis has become legal in Massachusetts, I've managed to grow a few NL autoflowers and currently have 6 growing. Great strain for insomnia!!. It definitely pleases the mind and body.

Have some shatter here in like tear drops lol....didn't put me to sleep, more like a trance that floats you right to the moon ...it is a relaxer, but may not be a sleeper for everybody.....I was fine for a long while... don't miss it

AS always a heavy hitter, kind of a creeper, but boy does it creep up hard.. very nice smell and looks. one of my top choice buds

i think I'm in-love with this strain. The way it relaxes your mind and then body is out of this world. This is a strain that should be used right before bed. You will have the best sleep of your life.

One of my favs. I have to go with White Widow, Warlock, Harlequin, Gsc, one called Franks gift here.

Have a fresh oz now. Love it. Perfect for after an intense workout!

First and only encounter was 25 years ago . Fish bowled 3 blunts then raided 7/11 for nachos chilli and cheese

Love this classic Indica strain, a must try for insomniacs. Now I'm also looking for Northern Lights #5.

Best strain ever

Favorite by far ♡♡♡

Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but - this strain is super-trippy for me. More so than any other strain I've tried. I find it useless for insomnia - the first time I tried it, I vaped right before bed and proceeded to lay there for about 2 hours with my eyes closed experiencing the most amazing colorful animated visual pastel cartoon-like animals and people. However, that was ultra cool, just not at 2 a.m. After that experience I made sure to use this early in the evening when planning to be up awhile.

Blueberry Northern lights #5 was also enjoyable

I thought gorilla glue hit hard! Then I tried two hits of Norther Lights and I am chilled to the max. Woke up feeling a bit groggy though.

Awesome strain i love it top 10

Amazing high. Absolutely love it

love weed northern ligths

Great buds, great smoke one of my top 5 to top 10 strains.

Awesome Strain 😎 Northern Lights kicks ass!!!!

This is the best pure indica I've had!!! Was organic and 100% hydro w/fish heads etc. I remember it to this day. One good hit and I could not get up off the couch. Like that video with the guy that was paralyzed off weed. (Minus the freak out)...

Just found this in Peoria AZ. This is my first round, and it is now my go to. I use this in the evening to relax then hit it again at bed time. I am in love.

I love Northern Lights it has been a favorite of mine for many years out of everything that I've tried over the past 25 years it definitely ranks in my top 3

Excellent for chronic back pain and those sleepless nights. 3 hits and you're pretty ripped and trust me couch lock will follow. Awesome !!!

Very good for anxiety and relaxation... 4 hits will lay me out though

You're playing with fire. One puff and done with this one haha.

Worked well for my anxiety and depression.

Great strain, One of the best nights sleep i have ever had. (Kelly Production and Processing)

Widely used for stress anxiety, depression, nausea or acute pain, Northern lights give a great sense of euphoria with a relaxed and mellow sensation. The physical experience is more of a comfortable relaxation instead of one that will make you want to “get up and go”.
