Delaware Lawmakers to Consider Legalizing Marijuana on Wednesday

DOVER, DE The Delaware House Revenue and Finance Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET on a bill that would make marijuana legal for adults and regulate it similarly to alcohol.

The committee will hear testimony before voting on HB 110, also known as the Delaware Marijuana Control Act. If approved, it will move to the full House for a vote.

House Bill 110, sponsored by Committee Chair Helene Keeley and a bipartisan group of 13 co-sponsors, would allow adults 21 and older to possess up to one ounce of marijuana, including no more than five grams of marijuana concentrate.

It would direct the Division of Marijuana Control and Enforcement, an entity overseen by the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, to enforce regulations on marijuana cultivators, product manufacturers, testing laboratories, and retail establishments, and localities would be authorized to ban or limit the number of ...
